Julien Baptiste is back and searching for missing people again.
The drama returned to BBC One on Sunday, July 18 for the second series, with Tchéky Karyo taking centre stage alongside a star-studded cast list, including Fiona Shaw. You can see the cast list in full here.
This time the series is set in Hungary and digs deeper into Julien’s relationship with his family following an horrific personal tragedy.
But as the series returns many people are wondering how long it’s on for and whether this is the final series. Here’s everything you need to know.
How many episodes of Baptiste are there?
There are six hour-long episodes of series two.
The first aired on Sunday, July 18 with the second broadcasting at 9pm on Sunday, July 25.
However, if you can’t wait all are available to stream on iPlayer now.
Is this the final season of Baptiste?
Yes. Sadly writers Jack and Harry Williams have confirmed the second series is the final one.
Speaking to the Metro Jack said: “When we finished Baptiste series one we had an idea for a trilogy and it was all great and very exciting. And then we thought about it and what we didn’t ever want to do was somehow see him become another police officer.”
He added: “I think we began to worry that it would become a formula. Do we suddenly make him just another cop?
“When we wrote it we started to realise that if we did this we wouldn’t get to do another one.
“It’s about doing the right thing for the character and not going: ‘Hey, we’ll be back next year with more crazy adventures.’ It’s something great that we all love and we’re proud of.”
