There’s no doubt Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are one of the most-loved pairs on TV.
The Belfast native and wife Ruth provide us with entertainment on a number of programmes including Loose Women.
The couple are currently back on our screens to cover This Morning for the summer.
When announcing the news that they’d be taking over for a few weeks, they posted a video while singing: “We’re coming home, we’re coming home, Eamonn and Ruth are coming home….”
We’ve put together some of Eamonn’s best bits while appearing alongside Ruth on Loose Women which show the funny, stubborn and romantic sides of his personality.

In this episode, Coleen Nolan tells Ruth she bets that the Northern Irish broadcaster is romantic.
Ruth replied: “Eamonn is very romantic actually, he really is. He’s not… like Jane, I find the whole petals on the bed and flowers and all the stuff you see in the movies a bit over the top, so he’s not that kind of romantic,” with Coleen adding, “Really?”
“But he’s very poetic, so he says lovely things…” Ruth added. Coleen then said she thought Eamonn was “that romantic” as the Belfast man walked into the studio with a bunch of flowers for his wife, giving her a kiss and leaving her blushing.
Eamonn talks about their experience in the delivery room
On the show last year, the duo gave an insight to what happened before the birth of their son Jack.
In this clip, Ruth said: “You kept going out visiting all the nurses and the women in other rooms, you did.”
“There were requests coming in from the general ward that people wanted to meet me. I wasn’t denying them,” Eamonn replied.
Ruth said as she was in between contractions, the door knocked and someone said: “Eamonn, would you mind coming in to say hello to Mrs Brown in room three?” adding that “He went!”
Eamonn replied to his wife, “And you got jealous didn’t you?”
Ruth added: “And then the next contraction came and I suddenly went, ‘get him back in here!'”
She also told viewers that her husband “patted” her a lot, and “sloshed a wet flannel” in her face – as the audience laughed.
The Belfast man continued by saying he was the one who recognised Ruth was in labour and said: “If it wasn’t for me, you didn’t recognise you were in labour, I recognised you were in labour, and I sped through the traffic, I was like Lewis Hamilton, I got through the traffic. I got there on time at the hospital and all I was, was derided and abused the whole way.”
Eamonn takes on Ruth’s lie detector test
In another clip, Ruth winds up Eamonn saying that he sometimes gets jealous when she goes out to meet her male friends, but Eamonn denied this.
Katie Price revealed the results of the lie detector test and said, “You are actually telling the truth.”
Eamonn was then asked if he had ever checked Ruth’s phone behind her back, to which he said ‘no’ and was again telling the truth.
The last question was if the TV personality had ever lied to his wife about where he has been, but he failed – claiming that the only time he lies is about if he has walked the dog or not.
Ruth throws her Christmas dinner at Eamonn
In another revelation on the show where Eamonn comes out dressed as Santa Claus, he said there was one Christmas when he did not buy Ruth a gift.
She called it: “The year we don’t talk about.”
The Belfast man said that he was “worked into the ground” and claimed that when he asked his wife what she wanted for Christmas that year, she told him: “All I want for Christmas is you.”
Eamonn added: “So the next day I gave her a little envelope, well it was a big envelope, and it had cash in it. She opened it up and said ‘awh, it’s lovely,’ and then she said to me, ‘what else did you get me?’
“She said ‘you must have got me Malteasers or Matchmakers or something,'” with Ruth replying that she thought he was talking about her main present.
Eamonn continued: “[Then] I said something like the dinner’s not as big as it normally is. I may have said ‘it’s not the way mummy used to do it.’ She lifted the plate and … “
