Tom Hardy stopped by police as he pops into Cardiff Tesco, but they only wanted a selfie

Film star Tom Hardy has been spotted out and about in Cardiff for the second time this weekend.

The Venom actor, who’s currently in Wales filming a new movie for Netflix, has been causing a stir on social media – this time being spotted with some police officers in the Welsh capital.

Posting to the South Wales Police Cardiff Twitter account, they said: “Ely NPT picking up a spot of lunch and guess who we bump in to.”

It comes after the actor, 43, was seen in M&S Culverhouse Cross on Saturday, where he also stopped for a selfie with the staff from the store.

Posting to Facebook, the team at the M&S store said: “Amazing to see the wonderful Tom Hardy at M&S Culverhouse Cross today!

“The team couldn’t resist a picture. Thank you Tom!”

In recent weeks, he’s also been seen at Barry Island, where he spent time in the fairground on a Saturday before going back on the Sunday too.

A picture of the star was shared on the Barry Island Pleasure Park Facebook page with the caption: “Thanks to the legend Tom Hardy for visiting us today and loving Barry island as much as we do.”

Tom has been in Wales filming his latest project in Cardiff – a Netflix movie, called Havoc.

His latest film tells the tale of a drug deal gone wrong and a detective who has to battle his way through the criminal underworld to rescue the estranged son of a leading politician.

The film is being directed by Gareth Evans, the Aberdare filmmaker behind the acclaimed bone-crunching martial arts thrillers The Raid and Raid 2, the Michael Sheen horror Apostle and, most recently, Sky Atlantic’s Gangs of London.

Many had recently posted in disbelief that the Hollywood star was in Barry alongside plenty of others wishing they were there to see him themselves.
