Ben Shephard made a Strictly Come Dancing confession during Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain – hinting that he might have been on the new series if it wasn’t for his leg injury.
The Tipping Point presenter joined Kate Garraway on the panel for an interview with professional dancer Anton Du Beke, who was recently confirmed as the new judge on Strictly, and Erin Boag to discuss their upcoming tour Showtime! which starts in January.
During the interview Ben couldn’t help but tease his co-star about her stint on the competition back on the fifth series. Kate was eliminated in the eighth week of the competition in 2007.

He explained that celebrities often go “numb” just before the start of a performance.
Anton said to Ben: “You wouldn’t understand this because you haven’t done it.”
“My legs are numb though, full stop,” the GMB presenter quipped in reference to his recent football injury that saw him undergo surgery in hospital.
Kate then laughed: “He’s actually given himself an injury to avoid doing it this year.”
The GMB presenter joked: “I ruptured my ACL just around the time they were casting the new series of Strictly. Perfect timing.
“Steph who does all the casting she contacted me and said, ‘Have you done this on purpose?'”
