Gossip Girl fans have been waiting for a while for the brand new reboot of the teen drama series, which first aired between 2007 and 2013.
Covering the antics of very rich New York teens, the original series starred Blake Lively as Serena, Leighton Meester as Blair and a whole host of other young, good-looking actors.
Now it’s been rebooted by HBO Max, which also made the Friends Reunion, in the US and is currently airing there.

How can I watch it in the UK?
The BBC has already announced that it has acquired the rights to both the reboot and the box set of the original series to air on iPlayer.
It’s already airing in the US on HBO Max so it won’t be long before it airs here.
The BBC hasn’t given it a definite date, yet, only ‘later this year.’ It might have to wait until it finishes airing in the US, which is on August 12. We’ll update here when we know.
Who’s in the cast?
The series stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith.
That’s right, no Penn Badgley, Blake Lively nor Leighton Meester. It’s a totally new cast.
What’s it about?
The new Gossip Girl explores just how much social media – and the landscape of New York itself – has changed in the intervening years.
Developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series, this extension of the pop culture classic takes us back to the Upper East Side finding a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark. The series is based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original show, developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
How many episodes are there?
Just six so far. And we don’t know yet if it will get a second series.
