Ranvir Singh was left visibly emotional during a chat with former Love Island contestant Dr Alex George on Tuesday’s instalment of Lorraine.
The 43-year-old is standing in on the ITV daytime show as the presenter takes a six-week break for the summer.
On today’s show [July 27], Ranvir was reduced to tears as she spoke to the Welsh A&E doctor a year after the death of his younger brother Llŷr, who tragically took his own life, aged 19.

Alex, who was recently appointed Youth Mental Health Ambassador by the government, spoke about how he and his family had been coping.
As the interview came to an end, Ranvir was overcome with emotion and fought back tears, telling Alex: “I think you’re amazing for what you do with all the pain you’ve carried.”

Ranvir had to break off as Dr Alex replied: “Thank you, we get through.”
Fighting back tears, she added: “I feel quite emotional speaking to you because we all think of our own families… So thank you for everything you’re doing.”
During the interview Alex revealed how his girlfriend Ellie, his family and friends have been an amazing source of support for him.
He told Ranvir: “There are moments in this last year that I have really struggled and I’m happy just to say that – we need the people around us to support us.
“There have been times I’ve had to say to my family, ‘Gosh, I’m really finding it tough right now’…
“There is strength to bring people in when you need them.”
Fans at home also felt emotional.
“Awww absolutely love Ranvir she’s so real. Just watched her getting emotional with Dr Alex,” tweeted one.
While another added: “This is why we love you Ranvir. You talk to your guests with enthusiasm and compassion. You really do make this programme worth watching.”
