Giuseppe Dell’Anno managed to pip competition Juergen Krauss to star baker despite the German national picking up a Hollywood handshake in the first round.
A jam-packed German week saw the bakers tackling biscuits, a traditional layered prinzregententorte, and a showstopping Yeast-Leavened cake during the three challenges.
And while Juergen started the week strongly, netting a handshake from Paul Hollywood in the first round.
It was Giuseppe who started to steal the show however as Juergen trailed away on the traditionally chocolatey prinzregententorte.
Commenting on the week, judge Paul Hollywood said: “Giuseppe did really well, he is really getting into his stride now and could be one to watch. I was a little bit disappointed with Juergen’s showstopper.”

Ultimately Giuseppe’s amarena cherry cake took the top spot ahead of Juergen’s beer-soaked cake earning him his second star baker after winning bread week a fortnight ago.
The baker said: “I can’t believe that. The next steps and next week, it puts me under a lot of pressure.”
While it was good news for Giuseppe, vegan baker Freya Cox won’t be making next week’s show after becoming the fifth contestant to leave the famous test.
Paul said: “She has done an amazing job. She is 19 years old, doing vegan baking and managed to get half way.”
Freya added: “It is the best experience of my life. I feel really proud to have been here and keep up. To get to week five and do it vegan I feel like I have achieved what I set out.”
